Friday Links: Halloween Edition

Halloween decorations

On this Halloween Eve, I am determined to celebrate the hell out of this holiday weekend.  I’ve been finding lately that although my days feel full, meaningful and joyful, I am missing the elements of fun and spontaneity.  Holidays are a great reminder to give yourself a pass from normal life and lean into whatever feels good to you in that moment.

Maybe it’s fun treats, or a throwback game of ghost and the graveyard, or a really campy horror flick.  You could consider a dance party for one, or a séance, or perhaps rolling the dice and starting your kids’ day with candy for breakfast.  I am looking for a straight up good time and nothing less, so I’ve gathered links from around the web to inspire just that.

My kids can barely handle the “scary” parts in Frozen, but watching a flick on Halloween is a must.  We’ll be watching Spookley the Square Pumpkin and then I’ll be watching Chelsea Handler’s new HBO special: Evolution because I too can barely handle the scary parts in Frozen.  No horror movies for me!

If you were concerned that you weren’t going to be able to consume enough sugar this weekend, behold, the Snickers Poke Brownie.  These look worth the sugar hangover!

Need a soundtrack to the aforementioned dance party?  This Halloween Playlist 2020 on Spotify is legit.  “Ghostbusters”, “Monster Mash”, “Highway to Hell”.  I am HERE.FOR.IT.

Not sure what to do with all those glowsticks?  Check out this vid for inspiration.

Looking for a festive drink to quench your thirst try the Pop Rocks Rocktail or if you’ve gone dry for the night or forever, it’s just the right time to bust out a Shirley Temple

This gorgeous house for sale is apparently haunted according to this article.  Would you buy a house that was known to be haunted?  Not me!
