Gift Guide 2020 - the Homebody

Governor Inslee in Washington state just issued COVID restrictions that will go into effect today and tomorrow, and he is urging folks to stay home.  Many other states around the US are doing the same, so it looks like a homebound winter for many of us.  If the people you’re gifting this year weren’t homebodies in 2019, they are now!

Take a look below for my recommendations for all things home related.

Parks Project Candle

Parks Project Take Me to the Parks Winter Woods Candle $34

Any good home body has a large selection of candles at their disposal and is always on the hunt for that next magical scent.  With notes of Freshly cut fir, cinnamon spice, caramelized oak with a hint of sweet berry, you’ll be gifting the ultimate winter candle.  Parks Project gives back by supporting advocacy, education and more for our national parks.

Farmhouse Pottery Pantry Candlestick

Farmhouse Pottery Pantry Candlestick – grey from $65

These candlesticks are so beautifully simple, and the stain is perfection.  The perfect gift for the hygge lover in your life.  Fun fact- the owner of the company used to be my boss at a different company.  I can attest to his serious design skills and impeccable merchandising prowess.

The Citizenry Pillow

The Citizenry Las Artes Pillow from $150

I have a serious love affair with The Citizenry pillow lineup.  Two are currently bookending me as I write on my sofa, so I am confident that you will wow your most discerning design friend/family member/SO with one of these beauties.

CB2 Double Dutch Vase

CB2 Double Dutch Vase $29.95

A combination of sculpture and function - minimalism with a touch of whimsy that will surprise and delight your giftee.

Bambas Women's Sock

Bombas Women’s Summit Calf Sock $15

Bombas socks are the shit, and baby, it’s cold outside.  Put these stockings in their stocking this year.

Bambas Men's Sock

Bombas Men’s Summit Calf Sock $15

Let’s hear it for the boys!  Load everyone you love up with these hoof sweaters.

Vuori Jogger

Vuori Performance Jogger $84

Performance used to be a word I associated with exercise, now I’m seeing the word through fresh eyes.  These cool AF joggers (you have to stand like the model though) are ready to rock a run, a zoom meeting, your once a week grocery shop and then slide you between the sheets in style.  Don’t be surprised if your giftee puts them on immediately after opening their gift.

Marine Layer Sweatshirt

Marine Layer Men’s Banks Pullover Hoodie in India Ink $98

Marine Layer is my go-to for the coziest pieces for men and women.  I love the retro rainbow design detail.

Anthropologie Tarot Deck

Anthropologie Apparition Tarot Deck $50

We’re headed for a long winter at home, so why not gift someone with this deck of “mental health roulette”?  Take caution with this one- do NOT gift to anyone who would take this too seriously right now.

The Home Edit Life

Target The Home Edit Life $17.10

Joanna and Clea of The Home Edit somehow bring their hot messiness to the world of organizing.  Sound like a problem?  It’s not.  You can give this to the messiest person you know (hint, hint) or the most organized.  Hell, I handed it to my kids, and now they’re organizing their legos by color.

Vitruvi Diffuser

Amazon Vitruvi Stone Diffuser $98.71

Diffusers can be really ugly.  This one is not. Go forth and gift it.

World Market Picture Frame

World Market Gray And Natural Bone Chevron London Frame $19.99

Capturing a moment in time is more salient than ever these days.  Gift this to your friend with a photo of the two of you in junior high, your girlfriend with a pic of you lovebirds on the top of that mountain or to your folks with a priceless photo of the grandkids.

Calm App

The Calm App $69.99

Who doesn’t need the gift of calm? While you’re at it, purchase a subscription for yourself!

I’m really looking forward to giving this year, even if a lot of gift opening will happen via Zoom. What’s on your list this year to give or to receive? And how are you feeling about gift giving in general?

Stay home and stay healthy.

With love,

Steph
