The Transformative Power of Greenery
There is something so calming, so effortless and so naturally beautiful about greenery arrangements. Pretense is absent and it feels like nature just stepped inside and made itself comfortable in the nearest vase. For the past year, I have regularly purchased greenery to place in my living and dining areas, bathroom and bedroom.
It’s a small act of self-care. A reminder to slow down for a moment. To appreciate the intricate simplicity of a leaf, the curve of a stem or the surprise of a new bud.
A colorful floral arrangment is full of joy and cries out “Look at me! Bask in my beauty”, whereas greenery whispers “I’m here if you need me.” It’s a nurturing and supportive kind of installation, and I’m grateful every time I glance over at a fresh bunch of silver dollar eucalyptus or the sturdiness of a few stems of Israeli Ruscus.
I am learning to hone in on what feels enriching. What I want to take up space in my home. Whether that’s my choice of fresh florals and greenery, or how I allow my emotions to root or flow. It’s funny how a collection of leaves can bring out such poetic prose, but I guess I’m just grateful for their magic.
If you’ve never considered the transformative power of greenery, scroll on for inspiration. And the next time you’re at the grocery store, pick up a variety of pleasing branches or stems and play around with 2-3 types in an arrangement or keep it simple with one variety. I hope you’ll find magic in them like I do.

I’ve been keeping my arrangements pretty low key, but that last photo has me swooning for larger branches in the bedroom. Where’s your favorite spot for florals or greenery?
With love,
